Post-Graduate Department of Geography was established as a regular department of the University in the year 2018. The academic thrust of the department revolves around sensitizing students to critical thinking, application of modern geographical thoughts, connecting theory and practices, introducing research methodology, familiarizing students to socio-cultural & bio-physical diversities, dynamics of spatial & structural dimensions of population, and exposing students to advanced tools & techniques in geographical studies. At present the department offers specialization in three key areas viz. Urban & Regional Planning, Remote sensing & GIS and Population Geography for its master degree students. Besides M. A./ M. Sc. in Geography, the department also offers Ph. D. in Geography.
