The Post-Graduate Department of Commerce started under the mentorship of the PG Department of Business Management in the year 2012. The Department also started offering M.Phil. as well as Doctoral Programme in Commerce. After making a journey of six years, the Department got the recognition of a Regular Department while the teaching positions are yet to be filled in near future. The Department has produced the meritorious students who have cracked Staff Selection Board (SSB), Odisha Public Service Commission (Govt. College Branch), qualified UGC-NET/JRF regularly and continuing their PhD in ISM Dhanbad, T.A. Pai Management Institute, NIT, Rourkela and also in premier State and Central Universities. The students have been placed in public and private sector banks and also many other premier corporations. The Department has also entered into MoU with Odisha Commerce Association and The Institute of Costs Accountant of India (ICAI), Bhubaneswar Chapter to its Credit. The Department has been organising the Seminars, Webinars and export Seminars. The Department is also providing and conducting the Value-Added Courses (VAC) and Social Outreach Programme, Alumni Meet, Parent Teachers Meet regularly.Further, the Department has successfully organised one 2 Days International Webinars in 2021 where Prof.Muhammad Yunus, Nobel Laureate was the Chief Guest in that Webinar.
