The Post Graduate Department of Chemistry, Fakir Mohan University was established in the year 2018 to cater the long awaited demand of students and various stakeholders for higher education in Chemistry in northern part of Odisha. The Department is curved out of the Department of Environmental Science, F M University, where M. Sc. Chemistry course was started by the University under Self-Financing mode from academic session 2012-13. Since the inception of M.Sc. Chemistry course in the University, it has been highly acknowledged by different higher Education stakeholders in the field of Chemical Sciences. Alumni feedbacks, University’s willingness and public demand are the causes behind its regular existence in 2018. Presently, the Department is offering full time M. Sc. Chemistry degree with twenty-four sanctioned students intake capacity and Ph.D. in Chemistry. The Department is running with six teaching faculty members and other staff members at University’s Nuapadhi Campus. The broad area of research of the Department is Material Chemistry, Environmental Chemistry, Process Chemistry, aqueous Chemistry and chemical and biochemical remediation.

• To serve the Nation and the World by igniting young minds through advanced scientific knowledge in Chemical and related Sciences with catalytic influence of ancient Indian’s rich Vedic Science and Innovations. The core value of knowledge and experiences cultivated in the Department, should be disseminated throughout for the betterment of mankind.
